Inspired by the distinctive natural contours of pebbles found on the beaches in St Leonards, East Sussex, this piece appears as if sculpted from one solid piece of wood.

The table was designed and made as the final piece of the entrants City & Guilds ‘furniture design and making course’, which they completed in 2020, with the self-initiated brief giving them an opportunity to further develop skills with hand tools and to create a unique piece of furniture that would showcase their style.

Appearing as a smooth continuous flowing form, the Pebble Table is inspired by the beach in all its forms, from the wooden hulls of small, traditional local fishing boats to the tanned toned limbs of beach goers. It has been crafted from solid prime European oak and constructed using traditional cabinet making techniques.
